Laser Care & Recovery Guidelines

Structured aftercare to support healing and skin health

Laser treatments work by triggering controlled biological repair in targeted tissue. This process stimulates your body's natural healing response to improve skin texture, tone, and function. Proper aftercare is essential for optimal healing, safety, and predictable outcomes.

Universal Laser Aftercare

Applies to All Laser Treatments

Expected Immediate Reactions

  • Redness and warmth in the treated area (similar to mild sunburn)
  • Mild swelling, particularly around delicate areas such as eyes
  • Temporary darkening or bronzing of pigmented spots (expected with certain lasers)

First 24–72 Hour Guidance

  • Avoid heat exposure: No hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or strenuous exercise that causes excessive sweating
  • No active skincare ingredients: Suspend use of retinoids, acids (AHA/BHA), vitamin C, or exfoliants until instructed otherwise
  • Gentle cleansing only: Use a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and pat skin dry — do not rub
  • Hydration and barrier support: Apply a gentle, occlusive moisturizer or healing ointment as directed

Sun Protection Requirements

  • Mandatory SPF 30+ daily for a minimum of 4 weeks post-treatment
  • Avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours (10am–4pm)
  • Wear protective clothing and wide-brimmed hats when outdoors
  • UV exposure on treated skin may result in hyperpigmentation or delayed healing
